NCMC Foundation has canceled their August fundraiser, Safari Nights. The Foundation is a 501(c)3, charity which supports their local, critical access hospital, North Caddo Medical Center. Over the last decade the foundation has given support for services and equipment. Some of their accomplished campaigns include mammography, ambulances, and $300,000 towards the purchase of a MRI. The life changing services and equipment have been instrumental in the healthcare services for their area.
The foundation holds an annual event which usually consists of music, auctions, and an exceptional time. However, with the struggles early 2020 has brought, the board of Volunteers has decided to cancel their August event. The foundation does plan to hold a fall event to gather and celebrate their mission with their patrons.
Even though many lives have been affected by COVID, and what is has brought the economy, supporters are still asking what they can do to help. “People are so wonderful! They truly value rural healthcare, and what NCMC brings to the lives of their communities and surrounding area!” said Mary Coil, Foundation Executive Director.
Mary explained that those who would like to make a gift to the Foundation may do so through mail or online at https://www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/1417572 or through the Community Foundation’s giving event, Give for Good 2020, https://www.giveforgoodnla.org/ncmcla . The Give for Good Campaign will run now through May 5th. Donations may be unspecified, memorial or an honorarium gift.
